I was just denied a loaner car

What is the policy regarding loaner cars for warranty repairs? I thought all dealers gave loaners but perhaps not. Has anyone else been denied? I did not buy from the dealer, and thus their reasoning. I bought the car used from an individual.

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

oh that stinks. based on what i've seen on this forum, loaner car policies vary from dealer to dealer. for instance, i've gotten a loaner for anything from TSB/maintenance work to quick, simple stuff like oil changes. but other forum members have only gotten loaners, for example, if the work took longer than 2 hours. maybe you can go to the dealer (if it's not too far) where the original owner purchased the car and see if your luck changes?

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

Infiniti's official policy is you get a loaner if the labor is 2 hours or more. Any dealership must give you a loaner for any Infiniti car under this condition, though you may have to make an appointment a couple of days out to get one.

Some dealers give them out more freely. Whether or not you bought from that dealership may affect the "more freely" part.

at my dealership they told me if service took longer than an hour then they would give out a loaner. I have been using an i35 for the last two days

I use(d) the same dealership as g35girl-- they gave loaners if you came in for an oil change, BUT you must call a few days in advance and arrange for it. If you just show up, odds are they don't have one. I did this once, and my salesman gave me his demo for the day, but he's was exceptionally cool.

This is a cardboard page that part of the new car sales delivery package... as you can see, any Infiniti owner is entitled to this perk.

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

to continue off of geobau... oops yeah, i forgot that an appointment is needed to get an infiniti loaner. but even if one isn't available, they said they'll still provide me with a car. it's not anything like an infiniti (i'm told it's an enterprise rental), but it's a heck of a lot better than sitting there waiting. and if that doesn't work, i can always use those rental car vouchers that they gave to me.

chinee... can they use that "policy is subject to change at any time without notice" against him?

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

I was denied a loaner car when I request a TSB about rear brake squeak although I made an appointment. I had waited for an hour, and they said that the squeak sound is normal. Hmmm.

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

Just to echo the sales card above - I had a similar experience with my local dealer. They wouldn't give me a loaner because I bought my car from a different dealer. I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs (800-662-6200) and they put me on hold while they called the service manager at my dealer.

Here's the ruling from Infiniti: for warrantable repairs, all dealers have to give you a loaner. For anything else, the dealer decides.

For the long version of the story, check out the thread on NICO: http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.net/fo...threadid=40972

If you're being jerked around, call Consumer Affairs. They got the hookup.

Infiniti really makes an effort to take care of it's customers, and they'll make sure the dealers do too.

Some of these "service managers" act like it's coming out of their own pocket, plus try to BS everyone who comes in, I saw plenty of that in my dealings with Ford dealers, but Ford didn't respond like this, they didn't give a damn either when you'd call!

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

Well the dealer that denied me is an INDY dealer. I was told no loaner for TSB's (that's what the car is going in for), but they would give me one for >2 hrs. warranty work. What's the difference??? They are not charging me for the TSB and it's over 2 hrs labor, and it is a defect..I guess the word warranty is subject to interpretation. What complicates this matter is my COUSIN WORKS AT THIS DEALERSHIP and I still can't get a loaner, plus it's the closest dealer at 150 miles away. Who cares...I still love the car even though I have to wait 3 hours for the fix.

Re: I was just denied a loaner car

What do you mean by an "Indy" dealer, they are all independent, Infiniti doesn't own the dealerships!
