Well I thought it was fairly simple. Did a search, found bunch of threads with m3 spoilers and thought I'd order one.
But then I read on a bmw site that there is a OEM BMW m3 rear spoiler (lip) and then there is BMW trunk lip spoiler
Can someone tell me the difference?

Here's a few picts of my lip spoiler. Not that you're asking about it but I'm just so happy with it and I didn't have to buy anything even remotely connected with Bavaria.

It's a lip spoiler that was sold on ebay as a "civic lip spoiler" (search words) for a 1992-95 Honda Civic. Bought it from the seller revotec-usa for $28 + $10 shipping. Had to prep and paint it. Last time someone asked about it, I did a big search and ended up contacting revotec by email saisai@revotec-usa.com (looking for 92-95 Civic 4Dr M Sport Trunk Lip Spoiler). They had them in stock (could still get them) at the time, Dec 05.
Look at thread https://g35driver.com/forums/picture-share/28768-my-sedan-rear-lip-spoiler-pics.html for how davemac got me on to the idea.

Cale, I bought that spoiler many months back after your recommendation, and it came in as a flimsy rubberized piece. My bodyshop refused to even fit/paint it. I'm glad you had good luck with it!Originally Posted by calejohnson

I don't remember what the ebay listing said it was made of but it wasn't flimsy. (My test of flimsy is you hold it at the end horizontally and it bends more than halfway.) Sorry it didn't work out for you. My body shop not only painted it but when I asked them to remove it and reapply the spoiler, because it was coming up, they repainted it and reapplied. I've had good results ever since.

Perhaps their supplier changed from the time that you purchased and I purchased.

Hey Vodka, I was thinking about getting one of those cheap ones and molding it to my trunk lid. In your opinion, would that work? It would have more fiberglass and bondo on top of it plus paint and 5-8 coats of clear.

I'm not by any means an expert when it comes to bodywork. I just tell my bodyshop what I envision, and they effortlessly make it happen. BTW, don't think I forgot about you, my contact just hasn't gotten back to me with the info your requested.Originally Posted by ttrank
