Unhappy Hurt My Brand New Infiniti

Well, only had my baby for a week (06 G35 Sedan) and had my first fender bender. Haven't had an accident in over 16 years and it happened last night after returning from Costco in Clearwater. Was on the Courtney Campbell Causeway when a panel van in front of me did a panic brake which caught me by surprise. Seems like the car in front of him braked and then he braked, so on, so on. I hit him square on his steele bumper. I was going around 10-15 mph (heavy traffic). I got the damage on my front, he has a nick on his bumper. I got ticketed for following to close. Here are some pics.

G35 Accident Pics

Update: Talked to my insurance and the car will go to the shop on Wednesday.

Sorry to hear that bro. Any fender bender sucks, but your G being 1 week old makes it hurt much more.

It will come back as good as new. You might want to think about adding the mesh grill or debadging while it's in the shop. Take the opportunity to add some mods

Damn, sorry to hear that bro. What is the legal distance you should keep from the car in front of you (lol, I should know this)?

3 second rule is always preached but what's the use when if you have a car length gap someone always squeezes in? This would make for a really long drive in the mornings LOL.

Sorry about your car man, but it happens. It looks like you only have cosmetic parts damage and not anything frame related.

when things like this happen, you shoudl always get "upgrades" so your car will come back even better to compensate for lost times

Same thing happened to me...except my car was a month old and going 60 mph when everyone in front of me slammed their brakes. I had time to slam my breaks but still hit a truck in front of me...had to replace both L and R front fenders, hood, and bumper w/ all the plastic pieces, but thank goodness there wasn't any frame damage. Now my car looks and drives like new.

Unhappy

No airbag deployment, still runs great, just the bumper, both fenders, hood and grille; lights are intact, and no frame damage. BTW, that same night I had just received my clear corners, bulbs, and my Amsoil EA filter. Will wait till the car gets back from the shop to put these on, since I still get depressed when I look at it. Its going to the shop on Wednesday, hopefully I will have it back in 5-8 days. Will keep all posted. Going to do the Def Driving on-line course to avoid the points on my license. Thanks for your support.
