Time to pull the trigger?

Well, I've been wanting to buy a G35 coupe or sedan pretty much since they first came out... and I've been going back and forth between the coupe and the sedan so much my wife is going to kill me if I don't buy something soon.

So, I've decided on a 2004 6MT sedan Black/Black, with the premium package. The MSRP on it is $33445. For those who have purchased recently in SoCal, is $31800 a reasonable deal?

Go to edmunds.com and get the invoice price for the car. That will give you the price the dealership purchased the car for. I only paid $500 above invoice for my sedan last March. I hear sedans are easier to get good deals on than the coupe.

Re: Time to pull the trigger?

Well.. consider the trigger pulled...

I (er, my wife and I) are the proud new owners of a 2004 Blk/Blk 6MT sedan with premium/aero.

I pick it up tomorrow.. I don't think I've been this excited since Christmas eve when I was 5 years old.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you get the car for in terms of over or under invoice? I too was able to get mine for $500 over invoice. BTW congrats and welcome. You'll love your car more and more everyday.

Re: Time to pull the trigger?

Well, according to the invoice listed on Cars.com I didn't get as good a deal as yourself, coming in at about $900 over invoice. I don't know if he was BSing me or not, but the salesperson gave me the impression that we were only $600 over his invoice.

Either way, having haggled for 4 days and getting exactly what I wanted, I can hardly complain. The dealership is only 10 minutes away.

Re: Time to pull the trigger?

Congrats on the car—black on black is the best color combo IMO, and I wouldn’t worry about paying $900 vs $600 over invoice. At some point, your time and aggravation aren’t worth the $300 you might save. Happy driving!

Re: Time to pull the trigger?

FWIW my cousin sells Infiniti and they move cars at or near sticker every time. I ask him whey they do not negotiate much and his reply "tomorrow, someone will come in and pay sticker". Heck I didn't even buy my car from him! I think you got a great deal

Re: Time to pull the trigger?

You find that here a lot, not just Infiniti, but Honda, Toyota even sell at sticker, unless they were like '03's that were leftover!
