Hi guys,
I accidently backed into a pole in a parking lot because I thought if I went the other way I would have gone over tire spikes.
Here are the pictures of the accident. Can you give me an idea of how much it will cost? Thanks

600 in lala land. Your cost is going to be around at least $1500 if you wanna do it right. Need new quarter panel and the labor will kill you on that. They have to remove a lot of stuff just to get to it, reweld new quarter and paint match. Then you need 1 new splash guard. Don't go cheap on this one or i't'll look like ****.
out of all things to break, the splash guard! i didnt even want to pay for this when i bought the car. they said that you ahve to pay for it because they cant take it off. i got a great deal on the car so i took it.. great.

you have to buy the rears in a pair..they come painted and is probably going to be the least expensive thing to replace. I'd say it's only $50...now the quarter panel is what i'd be
about...good luck with the repair brother

To do it right they will have to replace the quarter panel which involves cutting and welding. I imagine you could also find somebody to pull it out and fill it in. It might not be perfect doing it this way.

i did say to "do it right" If if that was my car I wouldnt use no fillers, i'd just replace the whole panel. I guess if your mind is really on how much money to save, then you can go the repair route. Judging by his question, he probably doesn't know any body man, let alone a good one. Don't take offense in my lala land comment, yes $600 is possible, just not the route i'd take sorry for any confusionOriginally Posted by wreckeds2k

Yep, most shops wouldn't waste their time replacing the panel because most of that can be pulled out pretty easily and then filled where necessary. Pick your poision because replacing the panel introduces potential alignment issues and filling the panel can result is unsightly waviness. Regardless, what looks like relatively minor damage will be costly. The entire rear 1/4 panel will need to be refinished and painted and the bumper cover and potentially the rear passenger door will need to blended. And the mudguard will need to be replaced. I estimate about $2K in repair. Go through insurance.Originally Posted by wreckeds2k

there is no way to repair a quarter panel without using body filler. fenders hoods, bumpers and trunks are the only panels that can be replaced without welding and filling the weld. the insurance company will not pay to replace that quarter panel. the damage is not extensive (twisted or torn metal) enough. the body shop will use a weld puller to pull out the dent, skim coat with filler, paint and blend into the rear door, bumper, and possibly the trunk. it will still cost arount $800 to $1100.
edit: looking at the rest of your pictures, they will not blend into the door.

I had almost the exact same damage to my car (down to the white scratch marks) and it cost my $1500. They did not replace the panel, and there was very little filler used. No parts were used.

It's hard for someone to give you an assesment of cost here, since you could have hidden damage under the bumper cover that's not visible without taking stuff apart. You've gotta go to a shop to get that done.Originally Posted by mvick288

You have some idea now but the best bet is to go get a few quotes from good shops and go from there.
