To extend or not extend

Hey guys need advise. Should I go for an extended warranty for my 03 G w/19k or just ride it out? I have 3 months left on the orig. Would like to get a feel of how many have the extended. Thanks for the help.

Hey man i dont know what itll cover but i work for a dealership between cashiering and warranty maaan i cant count how many times extended warranty has covered someones butt. i mean people really sheet once they realize the 1500 dollar warranty coverd 2 g's worth of repairs in one bang so id say definately most likey itll be worth it. like insurance gives you a BIG peace of mind knowing ur butt is protected.

I purchased the extended warranty when I purchased my 2004 G in Feb. It was well worth it. Make sure that you opt for the one with no deductible. Otherwise you will be spending like $75 everytime you bring it in. I think that I paid around $2k for it to be covered till 100k miles.

Thanks for the info. I still have plenty of time on the powertrain. Is it true that if I then while on the warranty change my OEM brake pads to hawks that it would void the warranty?

I think that the brakes were only covered for 3yr/36,000 miles to where they would change things if there was a problem. If you are past that point then that is a wear & tear item and shouldn't void any warranty issues.

Hmm, in my warranty booklet, it says stock warranty is 60K for everything and 70K for power train..... I have an 03 too. Did they chop down the warranties on this car?

I assume he's hitting the end of the warranty because of the age (48 months) and not the mileage...

True to that. I have 3 months left on time . The milage is way under the limit. I contacted my local dealer and they offered 60/60k add on for $1500.

It really depends. The warranty covers things that don't "usually" brake in our cars )). But I have bought it anyway for a peace of mind. The good thing it's not that expensive.

60mo/60K for $1500 sounds pretty good from the dealer. Mine is offering me 48mo/48K for $2000. Of course, your low mileage probably puts you in a better price class...I have until October to decide on an extended warranty...

You have an '03 with 19K on it!? Geez! I am jealous, as I drive about 24k miles/year...though I get to enjoy my G more, since I'm in it more.

Ahhh..well that makes perfect sense then. At least you don't have to worry about whether or not she beat on it!

You can purchase the extend up to just before 60K miles...that's what I did. I think I paid $1,200 or $1,400 or so for it. Wait it out & see if you'll be keeping it & if you have any issues up until then.
