Headlights on 2003.5 Sedan

Has anyone had any problems with the headlights moving, when you press on them? My driver’s side moves about 1/8" when the hood is closed, and 1" when open. (But it does not move when driving?)

The dealer wanted $893 to fix, and would not pass my vehicle inspection. What crooks!!! They claim it was not cover under warranty, but there is no way it’s loose because of someone/thing hitting it. I think whatever secured it failed.

The headlight has 4 mounting points; 1 on the outside, one on top and two on the front. Check to make sure they are all secure. They use 10mm bolts.

Thanks. I will check for those 4 mounting points.

BTW - My local mechanic, passed my inspection without a problem, since the ligths were not misaligned, and they worked!!!

If it is one of the bolts coming loose you should sue the **** out of that dealership for telling you it'd cost 893

I thought they were. Now I have a totally different opinion of them!! What makes it crazy, it that they knew about it before my warranty expired on March 31, 2007!

I wish it was that easy!! But, they will never see me there again, unless I buy another Infiniti.

This is why I try to do all my work myself. At least that way if anything is wrong I know about it and can fix it ASAP.

You are so right!!
Now that it's out of warranty, I guess I will do the repairs myself from now on.

The bottom bolt hole is broken. So, I used some super strong gel Krazy glue to secure. I did it on Saturday morning, and so far it's holding up. I guess I will continue to glue it, until I spend $893 in glue!! LOL

If it is the tab that is broken you can use an "L" bracket to make a new one.

I will see how long the glue holds. If it holds for a few weeks, then I will just keep gluing. Also, I am too lazy right now to get under the car to modify the broken bracket. (I can't see it from the top.)
