I'm looking to find out more information about the Impul front bumper for the sedan from someone who actually owns one or has seen one. Now that I'm running with an intercooler I'd like to give it more air (and show it off a little). I've seen the photoshop images at BulletproofAutomotive.com--but I need more details.

(1) Does it actually fit correctly on U.S. models?
(2) What is behind the front license plate holder (empty space I hope)?
(3) Does it work with the stock chrome grill?
(4) How much lower is the bottom of the bumper than the stock bumper?

Here's the image all the web sites that claim to sell this seem to use. It's a special order from Japan, btw.

Steve, I can answer some of your questions for you....the images are not photoshopped, they are the pics off of Impul's website...the bumper should fit the USDM sedan fine, we have sold a few of the Impul bumpers for hte coupe and there have been no fitment problems. Behind the front license plate holder it is just empty space...from my understanding the bumper is meant to work with no grill as opposed to keeping the stock chrome grill...As far how much lower it is than the stock bumper i'm not sure.

Colin, by photoshopped I mean that the original images from the Impul site are not real pictures. They are graphical renditionings. I'd like to see real photos on a real car.

I'm very much interested in the Impul sedan bumper but I would like to see another one or at least find out more about it before doing a $900 special order. I doubt anyone will take it back once I paint it and put it on the car and figure out that it's too low to drive with.

Also, it sure looks to me like there is an Impul grill rather than simply empty space. What I want is the upper area to fit the stock chrome but the lower area to be open to allow for intercooler breathing room.

From looking on Impul's site they dont list any grill for sale, they ony list the small hood wing which you can see if you look really close...this is why I dont think they use any grill at all...I do think the pics on Impul's site are actual pics, it doesnt look like a graphic renditioning to me...

Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking. My ideal is something that uses the stock chrome grill up top with a wire mesh type grill down below that shows the intercooler but isn't just a big huge hole.

If your guys see anything at the Tokyo show, lemme know.

I doubt the stock chrome grill would work on the impul kit... I konw it dosen't work on the Gialla Corsa kit

 

Its a real pic with the BIG GAPING HOLE filed in with black to make it look better. Or at least that's my theory based on other sites (stillen/CustomMaxima) doing the same thing with a bumper i ordered for my now dead 2002 Maxima.

heres my 0.02 on the body kit:

the side skirts and rear are really really nice, i plan on getting the ss's and prob the rear (that or nismo)... the front is very aggresive, and i especially like the grill. however, for me, the front impul bumper is too aggresive for a daily driver, especially if lowered (i'm lowered 1.5" in the front). but on a show car, or for a careful driver, the impul kit is awesome. good luck!
