Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
Re: Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
why would every test ever done on a MT to a AT show the MT coming out on top? I have never ever seen a report from any magazine that showed a AT beating a MT to 60 mph.
Someday we will have to get together to see which is truly faster, but I think we all know the answer already. Good luck this year in the SCCA events.

Re: Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
I just got the exhaust today and had it installed. I can tell you that I love it, although I did pay the 1k dollars for it. There is some droaning under load, but my extreme dynamat seems to be doing a pretty good job of suppressing it. Also helps to have over 1,500 watts of music power with a 5.1 dolby digital surround sound.
Re: Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
Had everything done, trunk, trunk lid, doors, under carpet inside cabin under seats. This was quite expensive but wanted to be able to hear everything on my sound system. I know of brown bread and probably is cheaper and more effiecient to do. Keep in mind that no matter what amount of damping material you put in, it will not completly stop the droaning while under load. But it does help cut it down some.
Re: Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
Man I could have gone for a ride in a stillen equipped sedan at the Nor-Cal meet recently. I'd like to hear this droning sound myself. I don't have any complaint's about my custom true dual system, I basically copied stillen's design, (I have a X-crossover). It differ's by having 2 1/2 diameter pipes from the header to where the stillen would start out at. High flow cats, 2 18" by 4" round Magnaflow mufflers as resonators and 2 Injen SES mufflers side by side. I have to wonder, if it's my resonator's or if it's my mufflers that are not making the droning sound. Frankly, most people that have added on high flow cats have mentioned they add more noise and or raspiness.
I'll have to go for a ride in a Stillen equipped sedan the very next chance I get, very curious here.

Re: Stillen Dual Exhaust Pics/Video
I now have at least 800 miles on my Stillen and the sound has not changed. Specifically, the droning has not reduced.
Just took another 2 hour cruise averaging 75-85MPH and the type of droning sound caused a bad headache the entire trip (with the radio turned up 4 notches lounder than usual). I'm young and enjoy loud noise, just not this type.
It does sound great from the outside, especially when passing though tunnels while flooring it (with windows down). However, when the windows are up and crusing below 4000 rpms, the droning and resonating from the inside is just plain annoying. I now have a lot more interior plastic creaks and rattles too.
Do others enjoy this, or at least not mind? Possible I am getting more droning that most Stillen users, maybe due to an improper install (don't think this is the case though, as it was not complicated). Stillen told me to give it some breakin time. Now that I have some miles, I will give them a call again.
