All lights out

So i didnt notice this problem till it was nighttime because that is the only time you need the headlights. Well i just got done washing the car outside on the driveway and it was dark by the time i got done. I go to park it in the garage turn on the headlights and the whole cabin goes dark. Everything single light goes out as soon as i turn my headlights on when i turn them off everything lights back up. So my gauges go black the radio goes black (still plays fine) and the whole area where it shows the airconditioning info. As soon as my headlights are off everything comes back on

By the way it was just in this morning 15k mile service i never had this problem before.

Any ideas how to fix this and why it was caused maybe when they serviced it or did my wash have anything to do with it.

Prob something happened when they did the 15k service. Dont think an exterior wash would do that.

+1000000 it's the dimmer wheel... click it in the full up position and its less likely to happen (if you like the gauges that bright - I do).

I have an '03 and whenver I turn off my lights, my instrument panel lights up like a Christmas tree. I am assuming this is a default, but is there any way around it - to have your lights off and to have interior lights off with the car still running?

i was about to call back the dealership and be all pissed that they did this when i took my car in for service but when i read that it was probably the dimming switch i got up and checked it out and what do you know they turned it all the way down.
