Question flex fuel a G?

Has anyone ever converted a G to use flex fuel? I know that this might seem an oxymoron but a whole dollar less for gallon of gas sounds good. Also did I mention the tax deduction? Now just for the record I am just looking into it.

I did not see any thread on this topic, thanks............

1 dollar less, but 30% lower mpg isn't going to make it any cheaper, e85 ethanol has a much lower BTU amount compared to regular gas so its a wash.

Right on! Trust me G is still in the shop and I am driving an Impala. I put some E85 in and it really sucks it down quick. I wanted to use it because it was cheap, but really in the end it's more pricey than Regular.

You also have to modify all your fuel lines to handle that caustic E85.

I remember reading somewhere of some guy who converted a rx-7 TT to run e-85 and his dyno numbers were some 50WHP more than with 93 octane...i will try to dig up the write up. I wonder if it will increase the WHP on a G by converting...?

yeah, octane seems to be an advantage for that fuel. But for now, price per gallon does not seem to justify the switch or modification to our cars.

you'll lose power, he gains power on a boosted vehicle from the boost increase dialed in due to the higher octane, e85 has a lower BTU rating, so he's injecting a significantly larger amount of fuel also so his mileage will go way down

What about converting to biodiesel. I heard they made a IMpala on pimp my ride with 800hp and 30mpg. I only heard this though so I cant confirm validity. But a 500hp diesel G? I would drive it
