It was probably a left over. I've read a story somewhere that said that infiniti did away with cloth with the 03.5 (I'll start searching to give this post some validity). Moonroof has always been an option. I don't have a moonroof, the wife said she didn't want to spend the extra cash on it.

Update: According to infinitinews.com the 2004 did have a non leather version. 2005 doesn't. Looks like I stand corrected. I'm cool with that
