Mine did it too. You could roll off pieces of leather with your fingers. Dealer told me to get bent.

My dealer also told me no. I got another used one from a junk yard and it is starting to do it too. I give it a coat of zaino leather cleaner and conditioner once a month but that still isn't helping.

This sucks.........!

I find it hard to believe that the dealership won't cover defective items
under warranty. I've read on Driver guys having them replaced for the
same reasons you've posted........maybe you need to contact Nissan!

That's bull! It's considered a wear and tear item? Then by the same measure, if our seats started to shed, would they not be covered under warranty?

Maybe a good alternative is to get the steering wheel covered with aftermarket wood trim from one of those aftermarket dash online vendors like Exotic Wood Dash, etc. I remember a member here has his '05-'06 G35x steering wheel with color matching wood trim. It may not be the most affordable solution but something to think about as far as quality mods go

Unless you plan to only drive the car on a track that's a bad idea since you would lose the air bag.

That's not a bad idea. I am out of warranty now so when it gets bad like
before I will just get another one. I had the same problem with my Accord.

Thanks

I told them I would be happy to be a mod but nothing has become of it.

They do make the JDM Momo 350Z one with the airbag. I want one of those soooo bad but am not willing to pay $600-800 for it. Plus I would try to make it say Infiniti.
