i used a porter cable random orbital sander and a pc random orbital polisher.
200, 400, and 1000 gritt sand paper and some aluminum polish.
just sanded it down with the 200 with the sander, followed up with 400 than 1000 by hand.
polishing, i had to use an old pad that i would have thrown away anyways. slap some metal polish on the knuckle and polish slowely
15-20 minutes
i wish i had before pics...the entire wheelwell was dirt brown. I hadn't cleaned the wheelwells since this incident

it would be nice to polish and clean my calipers as well. maybe when I do my rotors

check out my dull dull dull front cover. i never even bother polishing that. you can clearly see the difference the pc makes from that

How long does that shine last for? Does it oxidize or anything over time? Is there anything that you need to put on it to make the shine last longer?

im sure if i sprayed some some of that high temp brake caliper clear it would last much longerOriginally Posted by bert039
