Re: She got frozen? and died

I'm no expert, but when the "clicking" happened to me in two previous cars, it was the battery. It wasn't that the battery was bad, it was just that my battery connectors needed to be cleaned a bit. I know you already said it wasn't the battery, but it may be worth your while to take some sandpaper to the connectors just to make sure.

My guess is that the battery is dead. Switch the headlights on and crack the engine - if the battery is dead, you will see the headlights dim perceptibly while it tries to crank.

Try a jumpstart before doing anything else.

1 week after we bought our new 2000 Maxima, the same thing
happened to us. Turned out to be a dead battery on my "new" car.

Call up the Infiniti roadside assistance number and have them come out to help you. They may try to jumpstart your car, and if that works, you'll want to take it to the dealer and have them test the battery & alternator. It's possible that your battery just needs to be recharged. It could also be bad or the alternator isn't making enough current to keep it charged or the start is going out (though I doubt that.. the clicking you heard was probably the starter motor failing to engage because there wasn't enough electrical current). If they can't jump it, they'll tow it to the dealer for you. Either way, you want it tested. If there's an electrical problem, you need to have them fix it, or it'll just keep dying.

If it's just the battery needing to be recharged, you may want to double-check all your interior lights to make sure nothing was left on.

Doesn't the Infiniti have the "battery saver" thing that shuts anything off after being left on for a certain amount of time? My last two Ford's did, you'd think Infiniti would have that too! There has to be something wrong with his car, being this new, I'm sure it's covered by warranty!

sounds like a bad battery.. try to jump start it.. if it starts.. check the battery/alternator at the dealer.

Re: She got frozen? and died

In the end it ended up that the battery was not dead, it was just not holding the proper charge as far as voltage goes. Basically the juice that it was keeping wasnt enough to start the car... so i guess it ended up being the batt after all... thanks guys

If the battery is not charging completely, you may want to have your altenator checked. A bad one will cause your battery to die quicker.
