Go to Nissan dealerships...They charge half the price and same stuff...You won't get the nice lounge and free stuff that my infiniti dealership gives but who cares about that...Where are you located? If you local in OC then there's a few places that you can go to...West Convina Nissan is offering their service to the G35 community...

Wow, glad I saw this thread. I was planning on making an appointment for my 60,000 mile service this week. They quoted me a price of $700! I thought it seemed steep, but they do give you a loaner car, lol. That is some expensive loaner!

Hmm I think it depends on where with that too. I used to have a Altima and their 30k service was $600. I see them jacking the price way up for an Infiniti taken to them.

I highly suggest you guys look at what they offer as the service...If its just fluid change then go to nissan and keep your paper work. If they do anything like valve adjustments (acura) I'm sure that's not on our cars then you would want it done by a dealership or a independent shop that has certified infiniti mechanics. I know now that these cars are a lot more worry free. No major work needs to be done to keep it in top shape.

Yeah, I think it does too...Just look at what they are trying to charge you and you can see if it's worth it.

I'm at 29k miles and I don't plan on taking it in for the 30k service. Besides changing a few fluids, most of the stuff does not need to be done anyway. I can do that myself and just inspect everything else as needed. As long as you are in tune to your car's maintenance, it should be fine without an extra service at the cost of hundreds of dollars. Just my point of view.

Well, after some research, I found a bunch of really positive reviews for Oceanworks Japanese Car Repair in Berkeley. (510-849-1383, ask for Angus) They don't have a ton of experience with late model Infinitis, but a 30k service isn't rocket science and they seem to be a really solid, dependable shop. I actually had a great chat with Angus and you can tell he's a reasonable, knowledgable mechanic. Beware tho, they're generally crazy busy so you need to book appointments ~2 weeks in advance.

I'll be taking my car there as soon as I get some tires, which I'll have them install as part of the 30k service.

In order for Infiniti to void your warranty, they would have to prove that the 3rd party service was directly related to whatever failure you might have experienced. Kinda like if you had an engine failure and you'd taken your car to a typical oil-change shop 10,000 miles ago, they'd have to PROVE that there was a faulty oil change or something along those lines. Highly unlikely.

Absolutely. But even before you do that, please READ the service maintenance interval section of your owner's manual. Many of these services are simply not required at 30k miles, even under the most extreme conditions. Differential fluid change? gimme a break...

Thanks for the 411, i'll probably try this guy for the 30k and for 60 take it to the dealer.
