30k Service - Oh man, do I really need it?

I performed a search in all forums for a topic on this, but oddly enough the search came up empty. My 2005 G35x has just hit 30k and I believe the service from Inskip Infiniti in RI runs around $800. Is this something I need to do? I am so afraid I will spend $800 on the service and then $$$ for items that aren't covered by the service or the warranty (e.g. brakes).

Is this something I need to just suck up and do?

Thanks much.

For $800, go someplace else

I paid around $300 (oil change not done as part of this).

I was just quoted $750 by Infiniti of Oakland. It's a ****ing ripoff.

I'm taking my car to an independent shop, instead. Screw the dealer.

Damn and I was going to go there for the 30k service. Forget that, I thought they were the best Infiniti dealership in the bay?.

Yep. They didn't have to do any major replacements or fixes.

Oil, oil filter, transmission flush, among some other minor things.

If by best you mean most expensive, sure. Admittedly, they have great service and friendly staff... but that doesn't justify getting raped for a 30k service which is more or less a bunch of fluid changes.

Add the fact that some Infiniti dealerships around the country will do the exact same service for $350, it becomes downright insulting.

Wow...Infiniti Cerritos does the 30K for around $350. Be specific in what you want changed. Many dealers will skip on things like differential fluid change. I got my 30K at StreetImage this passed weekend for only $250 OTD (premium service, no engine and cabin filter change tho)

HAHAHAHA

Wasn't there a place somewhere in SoCal that hooked up G drivers? It was some Nissan dealership I believe and they're mod-friendly, even lowered Gs.

I just took mine to Superior Nissan of Puente Hills for 60k service. The cost was $320 and includes oil, transmission, coolant, air filter and in-cabin filter along with the inspections, etc. Changed my belts for an additional $180.

So where do you go? Won't it void warranty if you do not get the service done by infiniti?
