Re: Tips for fast 1/4 mile

Since it is a 5AT, wouldn't it be best just to brake torque and launch it and leave it in Auto mode, or is it faster in MM?

Re: Tips for fast 1/4 mile

It is when you step on he gas with your right foot and step on the brake with your left, when you are at a stop, you press the gas just before you start moving when your still pressing the brake...but if your rpms is to high, you will lose traction when you release the brake and press the gas pedel even harder....So by perfecting this method you should get awesome launches.
Awesome launches = good quarter mile times

Also you can crash his car. In that way he can't win.
Just Kidding. What are the specs of the 3000GT stock? HP? Torque?...

Thanks,
Xat

I agree with others that are saying to do the ECU reset. A total must since you have the 5at.

After the reset, you should take it out and go do some WOT runs. It will set the car up to want to launch right off the line.

Huge difference in response, especially if your dad is a casual layed back driver.

I just did it and am very impressed with the results (that and my Z tube I just put in)

Good luck and please be careful!! Keep a good distance between both cars

Yep 9b turbos are small but hell they kick in instantaneously and reach full boost quickly, I would not race from a stop as you will not catch him but from a roll you may have a better chance to stay with him for awhile.

2004 G35 Sedan with sports package at the moment.
