Re: Maxima to a G35

Congratulations! (Not sure if I said that) I picked mine up on Monday as well. The wife really didn't mind the fact that the closest dealer is 60 miles away - we travel to Baltimore quite a bit, so that's no biggie either. (It means a dinner out for her And with a loaner, it's not that big of a deal to get it there and get home. But, I don't plan to be visiting the dealer that often for warranty work.

So far, I think there are 6 or so G's in the area...

I've seen a black coupe in and around Mechanicsburg
Someone in Hummelstown has a silver coupe
I've seen a DP sedan over in Camp Hill

Re: Maxima to a G35

Traded my '99 Maxima SE for a G sedan over a year ago. Maxima was a great car, but the G still beats it hands down!!

In McLean, VA, the Infiniti dealership is next door to the Nissan dealership.

Re: Maxima to a G35

I switched to a G35 from a Maxima too. I did not care for the bloated Maxima. I really loved the nimbleness of my 1998 Maxima SE (5 Sp) and was quite disappointed that the new Maxima (particularly the 2004) had become a sort of "touring car" rather than remain a sport sedan. When I got my G in May 2003, I was not looking to buy the G because I was avoiding RWD. I was seriously looking at Audi, Saab, and even the Volkswagen W8. However, one test drive of the G convinced me that it was the best value in sport sedans. If the G35X becomes available with a stick shift, I would consider it very seriously indeed. For now, we manage winter with snow tires!

Re: Maxima to a G35

I've had my first 2 oil changes done at the local Nissan dealership too. Just 1 block from work, hard to beat.

I had previously test drove a Maxima earlier this year there, and was able to see the Navigation system. So when I decided to buy a G35, I had to get one with it.

Apparently the car attracted attention at the dealership. I suspect that several of the employees looked at it. For instance, when I went to pick it up the second time, I ran into the saleswoman who had given me a test drive 6 months earlier, and she remembered me. She had seen the car, and mentioned looking at the car, not knowing who had bought it.
