ARG! Headlight Burnt Out!
ARG! Headlight Burnt Out!
It never stops. I'm already tight on money and I thought I wouldn't have to spend any more money on the G after the mods I put on.
But my Passenger headlight crapped out. It rained quite hard yesterday and there were puddles everywhere. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.
How much does a replacement bulb cost? I dread the idea of changing ANY bulbs in the headlight of the G!

I just have to point it out its spelled XENON..lol....
Anyway, I strongly believe its the bulb (probably due to lack of seal) and all the moisture caused it to short and burn out. The ballast is mounted on the bottom of the headlight and you'd think that if they placed it there it's probably waterproof (unless insulation on the wires somehow rubbed off). I do have the stock D2R bulb laying around as well as a set of stock ballast, just let me know what you need via PM and we'll work something out.

From my experience, the ballast used by the Gs are one of the best in the industry in terms of water proofing... So, I would actually try the bulbs first by simplying swapping the left and right side..
If it is really the ballast... I might have a spare set of ballast lol
Indeed, I wish you are using D2S, I can just give you a 4300k lol.. since I have a spare set of D2S bulbs too =)

take the front bumper off? i usually just either take the front tires off, or just turn them enough to change the bulbs. taking the tire off makes more much more easier.
you could try just taking it out and putting it back in, it worked for me. i just had bought philips d2r bulbs. week of them being on, we had a bad rainstorm. driving home in that storm i noticed one of my headlights go out. i was thinking great. 2 days later as i went to put the stock lights back on to make sure it was the bulbs not nothing else. well the stock bulbs worked. just to mess around i put the philips bulb back and it worked fine. months later still working fine.
