All that work and you left the orange marker lenses on?!

So please give some input on the STILLEN brake stiffener. Is there a noticeable difference? Does it make the brake feel any better?

Car looks awesome Frank! I totall agree with TT, car should have been offered w/the mods you've done from the factory.

Bump for the most complete G sedan I've ever seen in NYC.

By the way NickS, I personally like the stock amber side markers. Some of us here in NYC have grown out of the whole debadging and clear markers thing for years now.

I was already thinking of calling you. I've got family coming into town tomorrow so I have no idea how my schedules gonna be. I should be able to make next Wed meet if you're gonna be around. The diff is def night & day. I'm quite pleased. Now I'm somewhat worthy with my mods, except for my power deficit compared to you, lol. ;p

Like Da Mayor says, I'm a pretty busy guy, trying to get my new business to grow. Being self employed, I have the great pleasure (<---Sarcasm) of having to do it all.....for now that is. I might be there next Wed though.

Excellent write-up on your mods! Clearly you've surpassed the braking and suspensions stages of your upgrades... now it's time to move on to performance

One question about your suspension mods. Can you give us some insight on the Hotchkis sways and GT-spec bars? Have they vastly reduced body roll when taking quick turns and eliminated the "boat-like" feeling of the ride?

I know, I should be banned, lol. Now that thecar is starting to look pretty nice, the orange markers are bringing it down. It never used to bother me before.

As far as the stiffener, it's hard to tell since I swapped to Brembo's and SS lines all at the same time. I wish I had put on before the whole upgrade so I could isolate the difference it makes alone. It has to be helping tho, cuz my pedal had gotten pretty squishy over the years. It obviously can't hurt. I could swear that the brake pedal was a bit tighter when the car was new, but I could be wrong. I've also heard that changing to more pistons often affect pedal feel due to having to fill the extra pistons. I've gone from 4 pistons total to 12.

Before you go out and spend good money on a new set of rotors. Go and do a proper bed in of the brakes, follow the instructions on Stoptech's website. I just had a used set of brembo's put on my sedan on Friday they were off of a 350z. I was getting quite a bit of vibration when braking at high speeds. The mechanic told me that the rotors maybe warped and need to be machined. However I recalled some threads a while back about people complaining about warped rotors and vibration. The consesus is that the rotors don't actually get warped, and the vibration is coming from deposits of pad material on the rotors that need to be removed. I followed the bed in procedure as best as I could and the vibration is mostly gone. I probably need to make a few more passes. So give that a try first.

Thanks much, that what I was thinking through the mod process. I'm not sure I can say I'm the most complete. Da Mayor would probably have to get the nod for our area. How's ur modding going, have you made any headway?

Thanks, yeah I was sandbagging for a while there. I finally got all the peices together little by little, plus business improved enough for me to play around a little. With the car aging, this was needed rejuvination the car needed that'll keep me happy w/ it for another couple of years until my finances get better.

Thanks! I have to do some more driving in it before I can really do a proper write up. Braking and suspension has always been more important to me for safety reasons. I want to make sure I can handle and stop well before adding more power.

As far as the suspension, the boat-like feeling is alsmost nill now. That's what I was most starting to hate about the car. I'd attribute that more to the Z swap than the bars. The bars are helping to keep the car's composure when transitioning from left to right quickly as well as the overall 'tightness' of the car. Body roll is definitely better as well as the tire roll when I upsized the wheels. I was expecting a slightly tighter feel when I got the car back, so I might need to adjust the sways more. But, it seems I've gained a bit of that coveted German crisp chassis feel and handling. The shop that put in the stuff said that the GT-spec is mostly show and probably has a minimal effect. The guy seemed to think that the spot where they get mounted is pretty good & beefy to begin with. Again having done it all at once it's hard to isolate the difference it's making. I'd like to think it's making a world of a difference so I can justify (in my mind) spending the extra dough on it, lol. He did say however that the mid chassis brace is more likely to make a difference, which I will be getting by the end of the month hopefully. They were backordered when I got the others.
