Had my front pads, rotors and calipers for $480 (cdn) at a strictly Nissan dealer. No infiniti products on the lot. There for a Maxima and look OEM to me.And feel no different. The Infiniti dealer wanted $680+labour.I think I made a great deal something for G drivers to consider, many of the Maxima parts are the same.

Funny how the price tag is so different.

i dont go to the dealership anymore, too much money for them to change pads, about $200.00, i buy my own pads for Hawks brake pads, quiet, no dust and pay just 50 bucks for a mechanic to replace them, and resurface the rotors

I just had to get new brakes and roters (at only 20k miles) on my '04. Carx quoted me $380. Went to the dealership and I was under the brake warranty 3 yrs 35,000 miles for '03 and '04 G35's. Dealership gave me new pads and roters for no charge at all. All covered under the "we know they suck" brake warranty.

I got new brakes and rotars at the stealership and after my brakes still squeel when i press on the brake the very first time I start it up. I went back to them said they are still screeching like before, they don't do it all the time just when i first start my car and press them. They said there's nothing they can do about it, that it's normal it's from the brake dust. Is this true anyone else get new brakes and rotors and they still squeel??

I just got my front brakes and rotars done from the "stealership" haha and they are very quiet. I don't hear a sound from them. Good as new.

Yes, it's normal. You can remove the pads, cleans the pads and shims, reinstall, and the noise will go away for a little while.

I think it's pretty obvious where these dealerships now make their money $800 brake jobs and needless "recommended" service (ie changing coolant and tranny fluid every 30K, plugs at 60K, diff fluid at 30K, etc).

I'm getting my brakes done at the dealership tomorrow. I spoke to a few other shops around town and received quotes anywhere from 130.00(Midas) - 360.00(Meineke) for front pads and turning the rotors. This seemed to be quite the range so I contacted a few local shops. One shop that I trusted recommended that I only get the OEM parts for the infiniti since there are 4 different SKU's for various compositions based on your suspension, year, etc... If you don't go with the OEM then you could run into mechanical difficulties down the line and end up band-aiding the situation until you are broke. The shop that I trust said that the pads are about 100.00 for the materials and that doesn't include rotating or labor. Which makes going to the dealership for 270.00 about in line with quality items and service, not to mention that the dealership knows your car inside and out.

However, if you know someone that can do it, I would buy the pads at the dealership and have them do it at a discount.

these brakes are so easy to work on yourself with basic tools. If your rotors need to be turned, PepBoys turns them for $6 each if you take them in.

There are many brake pads that are equal to or better than the stock pads, depending on your preferences. Some people don't like the dust that the OEM pads make.

One of my favorite OEM type pad is the Axxis Deluxe for about $75 front and rear combined.

I do it myself. Last time, I got ProSlot rotors and put on Hawk HPS pads. I also re-painted my calipers while they were apart. get better than oem and Say "NO" to stealerships!

I've had the R1Concepts rotors and PosiQuiet ceramic pads for about a week now, paid a local tuner shop $140 for entire install. Loving the new stopping power, painted rotors Hi-Temp black to delay rust, rotors are awesome though.

I have same setup except premium rotors and semi metallic pads shipped fro about $410. Installed myself. Rear rotors are a bit*h to install due to accessing the axle bolts.
