Interesting... they've got their categories mixed up. They're treating it as near-luxury instead of near-luxury-performance. This hotly contested segment has its benchmark in the Lexus ES 300. I always thought the benchmark was the BMW 3-series. To them, the 3 is a sporty and Euro-flavored ... rear-drive alternative. Umm.. okay. Interesting point of view they have. The tidbit about the supercharger is good. I wonder how it'll compare to a current G35 w/ some Nismo parts.

Quote:A supercharged G35 sedan is coming for 2004, a major Infiniti dealer tells us. Look for at least 300 hp, uprated suspension and brakes, and extra-sporty trim inside and out. Badges could well read "G35S."
sounds good, but from a major infiniti dealer? I don't think so, and 2004 model should be coming out in what? 3-5 months, I'll believe unless I heard from Nissannews.

same here, some of it just sounds plain out korny. I too will never believe for sure until it hits at www.nissannews.com
its the official nissan/infiniti news site. They have lots of great pics, sales figures etc, etc,. I check their site first thing when i get home everyday

I doubt a supercharged Sedan from the factory will come out in 2004. I think what will happen is Nismo might offer a supercharger for the sedans starting in 2004. To me this sounds more likely

I was thinking also, only 300 HP ?!?!?!, thats only a 40 HP increase, thats a pretty weak supercharger. Even at 6 psi most superchargers will give you atleast 60-80 hp increase.

well, nissan does have a habit of underestating the final horsepower output, i mean the 350z was supposed to have 270hp+, remember? Those numbers were off by 17hp. I also doubt the supercharger will come factory, it will probably come as a NISMO (infiniti r-spec) option.
