28 Mpg!
I just drove from Boston to Toronto and got 750km (about 463 miles for you Americanos) on a tank, which is almost 27mpg. The engine was running a little over 3000 at 80mph most of the way. I was completely shocked at the mileage because I don't get nearly that from highway driving in Canada. I think I just realized why, but I'm not sure and maybe others can chime in on this: in Boston I filled up using 93 octane whereas in Canada I use 91 (it's tough to find anything higher here without driving out of your way). Has anyone else seen significant improvement by going to a higher octane gas?

The G is a great touring/performance vehicle. With my V1 on, I was averaging 90 miles an hour going to LA to Vegas. I ended up with 26.5 miles per gallon. So just imagine if I drove efficently!
i just drove from Vancouver to Banff and got 755kms (470 mi) out of 15.6 gal which equates to 30.1 mpg. this was with a well-loaded down sedan and numerous WOT passing zones. i averaged 70-75 mph, revving around 2600-2700 i believe...
What tires and sizes are you guys running who are getting 27+ mpg on long trips? My best was about 26-27 mpg on a road trip to Las Vegas but that was on the oem sport 17's with stock tires at 215/55/17. Now that I'm on 245/45/17 sticky summer tires I can only do about 23 mpg best on mostly highway driving.
I just got done driving to Vancouver, Wa and back (from Seattle). According to my Navi mpg (which is pretty accurate), I was getting about 25.5 mpg. On a 18 gal tank, that's 460 miles.
BUT I was on my coupe wheels/tires that usually hurts my mileage because:
1) They are heavier than oem. Wider also.
2) The rear tire is taller, thus screwing with the Navi calculations a bit.
I could see 500 miles on oem 215 width tires. VS my coupe 245s.

I doubt that. The WHEELS only MIGHT be close but I know the wheel/tire combo on the coupe 19s aren't lighter than the wheel/tire combo on the sedan 17s w/ 215s.
When I swapped, I remember picking up both to compare.
The 245-40-19 RE050s are heavy as hell. Like 29lbs each! The stock 215-55-17 Turanza EL42s are 26lbs each.

I'm assuming Klubbheads was refering to just the rim itself? The OEM 19's are really light for being 19's, and lighter than many 17's.
.
Well unfortunately for us, we can't just ride on the wheels.
17s are not forged. But the 17x7 cast wheel is no more than about 20-22lbs anyway. The 19s are are forged yes. But that's what you have to do to get a 19x8.5 wheel down in weight. ie.. 20-22lbs.
