it is the g35x (auto) i believe has "premium" stereo other than that standard. I was planning on trying to get down to 26k (price I'm using includes processing, tax, tags which is about $1,100) for it but sounds here like i might be able to find a better deal. thanks,

My loaded (no nav) 04 G35x with 51k was $18,000. Still has full warranty. I just saw another identical car to mine in the paper for $17500. Are 05s that much better? With a full factory warranty, I see no reason to buy from a dealer with big markups.
as far as i know only diff is 05 has fancy key thing and slightly different backend (tail lights). Looking for less miles (under 40) than most 04's i have found, no luck located as good a deal as you got on your 04. no reason not to go to dealer except haven't found one yet.
thanks for everybodies help, so far down to an 05 with 20k miles for 26k.
found several 05's w/o AWD for 2-4 grand less, we do get snow here (althought not that much) any advice on difference in handling btw the 2. one other thing - have been seeing some posts about brakes/tires wearing out fast, guessing it is just people don't know how to drive?

Spend the extra bucks and get the 05 G35X. The Xs are rare and usually a premium for them. They drive like a RWD until things get slippery. Also, Xs can get off the line quicker then regular Gs.
The 05 front and back are newer style, more 'coupe-like'. The instruments and controls are updated; better looks and materials. Nicer style wheels. HID headlights. More HP. Don't overlook the key-less feature. It is the 'cat's meow'. I won't buy another car without it. One more year of warranty.
Don't forget when it is time to sell, 05s are worth more then 04s.
Gs have exceptional stopping power, in the same league as same generation Corvettes and other high performance cars; so they do wear down fast.

Bit high... I just got an 05 G35x with ~30,000 for 23,400 before taxes. Premium, wood, but no nav. I searched my butt off for that, so if you're located anywhere between Boston and NJ, I can point you in the direction of some decent deals.
