Under hood lighting with Oznium LEDs

Hello all,

So far I'm still working in on this project and I will post final pics and a "how-to" when everything is finished, but in the mean time I'll let you all salivate over what I have so far...

http://www.sfplayers.com/gallery/g35...ighting?page=1

The lights will come on when the hood is open (activated by the oem hood pin switch). The LEDs are 1watt super bright white 120 degree spread waterproof, drive over proof...

You can check 'em out here:

It's the bracket attached to that part of the intake I was describing in the previous picture.

Hehehe... I'm nowhere near that point at the moment.. I realized today I might modify the brackets some before I paint them. Give me about a week or two and I should have things together. Also, I finally found an SPDT relay with a 5vdc coil.. yay

Are you going to wire any into the hood or just within the engine bay?

Just the engine bay. I decided I didn't want any wires going to the hood. With the 3 120 degree LEDs there should be plenty of light in the important places.

Yes, after initial R & D I will try to re-make and measure costs, etc.

The dipstick light is a great idea. Looks like something Infiniti should have done. Since they made the ridiculousness location for it and then that metal piece has an opening before it connects to the engine block. That one part of the car pisses me off more than anything. Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll give that a shot myself.
