Problem starting up

This is not easy to explain but im going to try my best. Well lately with the stock battery its been hard to start the car. Like the car turns on for a quick second and then the rpms go down and turns off. Only way it stays on is if i give it some gas when the car starts up.

So today I bought a new battery, installed it, and still the same problem. Only difference with the new battery is that it sometimes stays on but mostly just turns off after it starts up.

Im all new to these kind of cars and not very experienced in mechanical work and i dont want to pay big bucks if its something simple.

The battery doesn't keep your engine running after it starts: gasoline, spark, and air take care of that. There's something else going on that keeps your engine from running every time when you start it. Does it die after you start it when it's warm (by 'warm' I mean after it's been driven for awhile), or only the first time you get in (cold start)?

Hmmm... this problem sounds similar to what I experienced with my previous car (Lexus ES). It turned out to be a dirty throttle body in which inside the throttle body is badly clogged up with gunk, dirt and other particles that the engine cannot sense the right air/fuel ratio to keep your engine running, so naturally it would shut itself down after the key start-up. I took the car into a dealer to get the throttle body cleaned up, and I was able to start the car fine afterwards.

I would take a look inside your throttle body and see if it needs to be cleaned.
