Might as well go ahead and put it on and see if you like it. A lot of people have the coupe midpipes and love them.

If I remember right, most of the clearance issue came from the exhaust crossbar. I think I just left mine off. I did have to bend the heat shields slightly for adequate clearance. They say you need about 1" clearance to compensate for exhaust movement.
