Just curious if anyones mod Sedan could if they raced? Why would you want to beat your brother? Because he's your brother!

hmm.. I have 80-shot nitrous in my sedan.. that should be enough to take a coupe.. but I konw there is another person on this board with 125 shot nitrous..................... so......

It's healthy to beat your little bro! Builds character!

Mine can, the only problem is every time I pull up next to one (which is not often) there's an old man driving it. I would think I can beat a stock 350 as well, but in 10 months of having my car, I've never once pulled up next to one. :^ (

Don't know about a coupe. Do know about a 6-speed 350Z. To which the answer is yes.

HMMMmmmmmm lemme think YES!!!! When I first got my stock Sedan with it being the fullest sports sedan there is I beat a stock G35 Coupe Auto... Then a couple of months ago I beat my friends 350Z auto too.. By a car length and that was with my intake.... People really sleep on the G35 sedans thinking they arent fast but in fact they are very very quick depending on which one you get. 6 Speeds on the other hand I doubt.. I mean i know I cant, but hopefully with some more modding i'll get there. iLLG

Steve (zimbo),
I would certainly think so. What did your Sedan do on your last dyno?

Ive not had a chance to race but the
sedan is 260hp vs 280hp for the coupe
sedan is 3398lbs vs 3435lbs for the coupe
Gear ratios etc are identical so the net effect is a power to weight ratio of 13.06lbs per hp vs 12.26lbs per hp, so likley they are VERY close, bottom line I suspect is that the weight of the driver will be the deciding factor assuming equal skill at racing.

355 at the wheels. I just added high-flow cats so I'm hoping to breat 360. Then I gotta stop with the mods for a while.

Not to mention that sedan has slightly better drag coefficient.
Registered User
That's not going to come into play in a 0-60 or 1/4 miles. Only in excess of 100mph would that make much of a difference, and even then, negligible since the Coupe is only 0.01Cd behind.

Registered User
Yes, but the coupe has a lot more unsprung weight due to the brakes and wheels. That weight considerably can slow the car down.
Registered User
It depends. With 18's and Brembo's? Yes. With 17's and the same brakes as the sedan? Not so much.
