anyone? i have a 04 maxima se 5spd auto bone stock and ran a 14.4 i just wanna know how i fair against a sedan. my cousin ran his g35 coupe auto once and got 14.3 14.4 an a14.5,

 

yea i raced one. my friends mom had one for a week. he took it out and we raced...i beat him everytime we raced. It was a good race but i pulled pretty hard after late 2nd

Well I imagine they're slower, they weigh more, they're less aerodynamic, they have less power, and they have less traction.

Still the VQ rocks, and the size of the Maxima rocks. Elite package rocks too.

I'm a total Maxima fan at heart. Since 92 they've dominated their class.

 

if i pulled a 14.4 with my 04 se auto, u must be in the 13s if u pulled on it alot in second gear??was it a 04 SL OR SE the se's are faster due to the 5spd auto.. and i know i can do better than a 14.4 so i dont know.. good race though

actualy im sorry im not the same guy. there is one guy on maxima.org that claimed a 14.1 or something stock. he wouldnt post slips. i posted slips when i had them.. i have the second fastest bone stock 04 maxima on maxima.org 6th gen.. 1st is a 04 6spd maxima se with a k&n panel filter that ran a 14.39, than me with a 14.48 at 96 mph in my auto.. i posted slips and a pic of my car going down the track, cant do better than that

 

not five speed, they're 6 speeds. The lat max 5 speed was the 2001. The VQ on the maximas have a different plenum (variable capacity) which means more low end torque, but less top end power. 04 max's are too heavy, watch out for the 5 speed altimas (yes, 5 speed) or th 2k2/2k3 maxima 6 speeds.

"im not causing a fight here, or a flame war" but equal drivers i know the G35 sedan is a drivers race for an 04 maxima se.. i ran a 14.4 in my "auto" stock maxima, isnt that what an auto 04 g35 sedan runs.. and the max is front wheel drive ive never floored it right off the line at the track, if i do nothing but smoke. its a bitch to get the tires not to spin.. as far as im concerned 14.4 isnt a pig.. and the 04 max is about 120 pnds more than a g35 it isnt that much more..

 

I took one out of the tool booths (turnpike very early am) roll on from 70mph. The Max has a robust power curve from 70 to say 110. He was never able to come closer than a car length. But at one point I thought it he would. He stayed with me however I pulled an additional car length by the time I saw an indicated 140 on my odo. He took an exit shortly afterwards.

The Max has credible performance If he had a huge jump on me I'm sure it would have took some work to catch him. I have an Auto sedan

04maxima, congrats on your 14.4....be happy with that cuz that's the best your car'l do! When i raced my boy...and i'll tell you my boy can drive his *** off, and he's really familiar with maxima's because he drives an 02 maxima. so back to what i saying...when i raced him, off the start we were dead even for approx. 2 seconds....i then hit second and started to pull. I have a K&N Filter and a hypergrounding kit. i dont think i run 13's. Oh and another thing..i'm sure his was a SE. it was an automatic and we raced plenty of times sometimes just auto, sometimes sports shift. but everytime i came up on top. Our G's DO NOT mess around!
