different factory mufflers from 03-06 ???? HKS question ?

well I put a coupe mid pipe on my 03G and on my girls 04.5Gx last week and her car sounds a bit louder and just sounds better for some reason. Not sure if the z tube and pop charger in my car is covering up the exhaust sound I hear in her car or if there is some other difference like the factory mufflers. I have noticed some G's factory exhaust tips stick out further. Wondered if there was a difference ? Her's rumbles a lot more, and is louder when driving off. My current set up is much deeper and a tad louder at start up and idle with the coupe mid pipe on now but not much more audible when driving off.

Wondering if I may be happier with a 05 midpipe and HKS sport than my current set up ? Would my exhaust be too loud with my coupe midpipe plus an HKS sport muffler ?

I don't want loud I just want to hear it.

post any exhaust clips that will help me

thanks

Oh I hate those things!

I think the 05 mid with HKS would sound great.

Or just keep the coupe middy and at least add the HKS. It's not that loud at all. IMO with the z-tube / pop-charger / HKS its the closest you can come to sounding like the stock coupe exhaust. I love mine

The 05-06 sedans use longer muffler cans hence the reason why the tips sit out a little further. It's also why an 03-04 muffler is quite a bit louder with the 05-06 midpipe.

wonder why her car is louder than mine ? Mufflers on my 03 vs her 04.5Gx look the same.

Different year mid pipes ? or do my intake mods make my exhaust quieter ?

any sound clips ?

HKS has 1 or 2 exhaust tips ? Where to buy them ?

I might be the only stupid one here.. but I found the 05-06 OEM exhaust with cats being just perfect, while I have a 04.

However, note that there is major work to be done to try to fit the 05-06 rear muffler assy to a 03-04 G... but I just love the way it is now =)

It just seems that everything but the motor got quiet after I put the stock cats back in.
