I need feedback!
I own a pearl white 2005 G35 6mt.. I need some info regarding wheels. I can get a good deal on 19 inch coupe wheels (brand new w/new bridgestone tires).. I also want to lower the car a little... I was thinking to install the 350Z
springs (I see several people on the forum with those springs) with the coupe wheels... Will the rear tires rub with people in the car? I really hate that about a car.. My other option is to just lower it on the factory 18 inch sport wheels (which look very similar to the coupe wheels)? I am trying to keep the budget down due this being my daily driver.. ( Still need to finish building my 91 turbo MR2!)
thanks.

You can always powder coat or paint your 18's and get some spacers to bring them out to the fenders. Then you don't have to worry about the rubbing which will happen if you go to low.
My experience is that with G35 coupe springs in the rear with 19" wheels and +35 I rub with 2 or more people in the back seat. The coupe wheels are +33 in the rear so they wills stick out a little further than mines so you probably will have some rubbing but you can roll your fender and that will solve the problem.
Thanks, I have never had to roll my fenders before. I am not sure what that would normally cost me.. I also wonder if I install a rear camber kit, if that will compensate for tire rub concern?
Fender rolling typically costs around $40 to $60 per fender out here in Cali. (not sure where you are from).
Depending on how low you go, will depend on if you need a camber kit or not to reduce the negative camber that is caused by lowering the car. A camber kit will actually make it worse since it will be bringing the top of the rim/tire closer to the fender wall. The thing here is you are looking at a set of rims that are not made for the sedan (wrong offsets). With a mild drop and rolled fenders, it is dooable...or, you just roll with the negative camber which will cause premature wear on the inside of the tire.

My Coupe 19's with stock tires lowered on Z suspension did NOT rub with 2 people in the back - Tires were worn about 50%. However, i recently put on a new set of tires (Kumho's) and because of the tread pattern (more squared off on the outer edge) they DO rub. I rolled my fenders my self, its very easy to do. It sounds like a big deal but all your doing is pinching that inner fender lip closer to the fender. No rubbing issues at all now.
