Re: LSD

I just ordered a new set-up for the rear-end: SSR GT1 18 x 9 wheels with Bridgestone S-03 PP 255/40/18 tires. I don't have any pics, but if you go to tirerack.com, you can see all the pics you want... Thanks for your interest.

Re: LSD

I had a Quaife ATB differential on my '95 Maxima 5-spd, and it made no noise whatsoever. It "featured" smooth, seamless operation. It allowed that car to pull out of corners with vigor, even in the wet. It improved handling/traction significantly, which was really a confidence builder. It required no special maintenance. It was guaranteed for LIFE, even under racing conditions, and the warranty was infinitely transferrable from owner-to-owner! You just can't beat it.

Now, if Quaife would only MAKE it for our application...

Re: LSD

Here's what I got back from Quaife:

"Unfortunately, Quaife does not offer an ATB differential for this application. We are considering developing one for the 350Z in the near future but nothing is imminent."

350Z/Coupe/Sedan would probably be covered in one unit? It's the same right?

Re: LSD

Thanks for posting your email reply from Quaife.

Yes, the same, 100% the same in fact.

Only catch is for Automatic transmission equipped cars, they have to swap in the ring and pinion gearset ment for the MT diff in order to use aftermarket LSD's. Which begs the question, what about a coupe the already has a oem LSD, would that owner have to swap in a MT ring and pinion gear set? A mystery that I don't think will be solved until someone cracks open a case.

Re: LSD

They are ready to play ball!

I asked them if there was anything we could do to get the ball rolling, here is what they said:

"Well, I guess to get the ball rolling if one of you could send us a stock G35 differential to look at and pattern from we could than quote you a price based on a minimum production run of 30 units. We will of course return the unit to you whether you choose to proceed or not."

So... anyone have a stock diff laying around?!?!?

I started a thread in the tech section called 'Quaife LSD' to get the coupe guys in the loop, please go there to continue discussion.

Can we get someone to close this post to force the discussion to the other thread?
