Check your JWT pop rubber trim if your temps are high

I live in Dubai so engine temps are well over 80c. I noticed my trim missing a few months ago but got around to buying replacement trip from JWT this week.

I was about to install the new trim when I saw the old hard rubber part of the trim (the stuff that grips onto the heatshield or scoop) was there but the thin rubber trim (that forms the hole from heatshield to scoop) was gone.

Apparently high temps cause this and I was advised to secure the trim with an additional layer of super glue.

Check your trim

First two pics are the original rubber moulding (grips on the scoop/heatshield) but with missing trim. Third pic is the new part which I was reseal the trim on using superglue.

80C, that's only 176F, my engine temps are way over that here in the states under heavy driving. If your car were black there I would bet you hit 230's!
