Come on, I know a lot of you guys have done this to match the body of your car. How much did you pay to get it done?

My G is silver and I'm curious about what kind of price range to expect.

I think the average people have paid has been about $200-300, that I've seen.

I would figure about $200 for paint and another $100-200 to R/R.

^^^ What they say.About the same price as in Canada,I've already looked into it.But you could probably get it done for about $30 with a couple of cans of Tremclad.Post pics and let us see how that turns out.

Are you painting just the side skirts and not the rear bumper? It think it should be around $200-300 for the side skirts and $400-500 for both.

I had mine done but also had other dings and my front bumper fixed at the same time so I don;t know the cost just for the lowers.

I'll be doing mine in a few weeks. I got paint today which cost me about $100 for all PPG produts including the OEM base/clear paint, harder, reducer, and adhesion promotor. I've already got the compressor and spray gun. Painting is the easy part. Getting the sills nice and clean will take some time. I'll be doing a DIY for painting the sills for those that have a compressor and spray gun.

Yep looked into that aspect also.Gonna take lots of wet sanding with a "clear" ultra fine paper. And I would suggest a hobby shop for the best assortment of fine to course sandpapers.

I've done some research and spoke with the guy at the paint shop. This is what I'll need to do to adequately prep the plastic and paint:

1) Clean with super hot water and strong soap like dishwashing soap

2) Isopropyl alcohol wipe down

3) Spray panel with water. If it beads, it's not clean yet.

4) Lightly scuff with a 400 to 600 grit sandpaper

5) Hot water and soap bath, isopropyl alcohol, tack cloth

6) Adhesion promotor, dry 15 to 20 minutes

7) Paint, 2 to 3 coats

Yes and more clear if possible. I always try for ~5-7 coats of clear when I have things painted.
