Dude.

I'm not sayin' the Maxima and G don't share any parts, because I don't know that. But I do know (along with everybody else in this forum) that this statement is WAY wrong.

sorry, your right.typo.NOT!!! When Infiniti looked to debut in the sport sedan market they went with a proven winning formula. There sister company's flagship Maxima. They modded the crap out of it and thus the "G" was born.I love my G and the heritage from which it came.

I agree with your other post about manufactures parts merged into different lines of cars. But to say a G is a modded Maxima, I guess then we can call anything from a sentra to a titan a modded Maxima. I only mentioned the I35 as it was basically a Maxima in a tux.

NISSAN Dealers usually do not have the parts system for your INFINITI...

I get calls from a very well known NISSAN dealer on this forum for part numbers for INFINITI vehicles...

Even though the 05-07 350Z pads fit your G35, it is not the specific part number the G35 calls for. It is not a pad that is usually stocked either by them...

Hey Guys,

New Guy with an 03 coupe AT with 42K. I've been looking to change my Brake pads and you guys have given me some great information to consider. I was wondering though, if I were to purchase regular Brembo plain rotors and use the OEM pads, would you see any issues for the pads or the rotors in the future ? (IE. excessive wear on pad/rotor, noise, frequent replacement(

Thanks everyone.

I use the Brembo-manufactured OE replacement plain rotors and Hawk HPS pads on my sedan, and that's the combo I recommend. I don't think you'd have any problems using those rotors and Infiniti OE pads. These are very high quality rotors at a very reasonable price.

Note, by "Brembo-manufactured OE replacement plain rotors" I am not referring to the rotors for a 6MT Coupe with the Brembo calipers. I'm referring to the regular replacement rotors manufactured by Brembo and available at Tire Rack and probably many other places. I assume that's what you're referring to also since you have a 5AT Coupe.

you must not be talking about the 04+ maxmia models because my brother has one and it cannot even compare.

Also, the handling is no where up to par with the G, considering it's also WWD (WRONG WHEEL DRIVE)! I am not going to turn this into a heated debate, but your opinon is going to be solo on this one.

They have pretty cool quad projector headlights i'll give you that.

^^^ I was just about to post similar... the Maxima isn’t even close in handling... In fact I test drove the Maxima in 04 when I got the G and the trq steer is just ridiculous! Spirited cornering was borderline unsafe!

The car had good acceleration, but saying it handles comparable is plain bogus.

The maxima is on a completely different platform. The G35 is on the FM platform (front mid-ship) which is a rear-wheel drive platform. As we all know, the maxima is front-wheel drive.

I owned a 05 maxima before I bought a 03 G35 sedan. I now own a 03 G35 coupe. I switched to a G35 because it handle so much better (like night and day). The maxima is a boat compared to the G35.

Cool

Right on.. thanks for the advice, I'll let everyone know how its turns out. I'm planning on changing all rotors, pad and changing the spak plugs for my 42K maintenance schedule. What do you think about transmission and brake fluid?

Did you have the Diff, Transmission and the brake fluids done at 30K? They are typically in the maintenance schedule for the 30k miles.

DID not change fluids

No I have not as if yet. I bought the car at the end of Aug with a 37K miles ont, the dealer said everything was maintained but failed to show me records. You know how car salesmen..

So just to keep it on the safe side I wanted to change the fluids, spark plugs, belts(in necessary) rotors and pad.

Thanks Socal_G i will definitely add this to my scheduled maintenance.
Peace
