I need to get my rotors cut and a new set of pads this weekend for my 03 Sedan.

I know the G35Coupe matches up to the 350Z for rotors and pads. Does anyone know or better yet have the part numbers for OEM rear pads and rotors for the G35 Sedan that I can take to my local Nissan dealer to get? The closest Inifinity dealer is an hour away.

If not are there any alternatives to OEM that are not $$$$ I live close to Summit Racing. I will not by any JUNK from Autozone etc...


Per the post on squeaking brakes after being replaced? My 03 sedan has been doing this as well. I will be doing them myself so hopefully this will be eliminated after this weekend. I will say that it only makes noise when backing out of garage in the morning so it hasn't been as bad as some others have mentioned on this site.

Order the brake pads from sites like everythingg35.com, etc. In my case, I purchased Hawk HPS pads from AutoAnything.com (w/ free shipping). Have grown weary of the jacked-up prices of wear-and-tear items like brake pads in local dealerships, so I have opted to order parts online to save $$$.

 

Why do you think you need you rotors turned. You're only choices for rotors at OEM prices are OEM or Brembo blanks (Tirerack.com). Either way, you're looking at about $75-90 each.

 

They have 48k on them and I have always turned or replaced them at 50k as a rule of thumb.

 

I would also try the nismoshop.com for oem pads. You could also buy aftermarket pads that are designed to perform better than oem as well. Hawk, Project MU, etc.

 

I wouldn't replace with the OEM pads. They are freakn' dusty. Try order some Hawks HPS on-line. They are about $70/pair with is very close to OEM price

There is on rule of thumb on pad's life. Just check it every once in a while. With the OEM 5-spoke wheels, you can see thru them and see how much pads you have left. I don't know what year is your car, but the 03/04 pads usually last < 20k miles. Mine last 17K miles and my DD civic lasts over 70k miles...just because I drive freeway a lot to go to work.

 

I just switched from OEM to Hawks, much much better, little dust, and no squeeking.

 

Just keep in mind, that while the OEM pads do dust badly, they offer the best initial bite and probably the best street performance. These pads can haul the G sedan from 60 to 0 within 110' which is nearly supercar territory. Hawk pads and other performance pads tend to have less initial bite and don't build heat as quickly which isn't necessarily the best for the street. On the track is where higher performance pads will show thier worth.

 

Buy Hawk HPS pads and Brembo plain replacement rotors from Tire Rack. Cheap, quick, easy, and very good quality solution. I also agree with everything DaveB said in this thread, except that I personally found the initial bite of the OE pads a bit excessive. I find the Hawk HPS pads easier to modulate, but that is just my personal opinion. With a little heat in them they bite like crazy.

 

Absolutely you can go to a Nissan dealer.I did for mine,they look and are exactly the same for the higher end Maxima.Many of the Maxima parts are the same as the G35's.And slightly cheaper to boot.As soon as they put that word Infiniti on the invoice it raises the price.

I have OEM Pads, HAWK HPS Pads, as well as STOP TECH Slotted, Drilled & SLotted, or DRILLED rotors...

Well due to poor timing on my part I ended up going to the Infinity dealer here in Cleveland.

I did get the part #'s from Infinity and called several Nissan dealers that were closer to me. None of them stocked the parts but could order them. They aren't any cheaper on the parts. They checked and they were the same as Infinity on pads, rotors, etc...

I will definitely go with Brembo blanks next time the rotors from the dealer were 111.00 pls tx.

I just finished putting on pads, hardware kit, and rotors all went well.

Has anyone figured out an easier way to remove rotors that are rusted on. The only way I have ever been able to get them off is with my handy mini-striker.

How simple can you be not to think that many parts are merged into different lines of cars by many manufaturer's.

The top of the line Maxima is just as fast,handles just as well as a base 03-05 G35!!! The G35 was an upscale Maxima at first.Basically a modded Maxima,which has been around a lot longer.
