Have you guys negotiated for a Nismo front bumper vs your non-sport?
I've read about a few guys doing this. Chime in. What did you ask for? Nismo or optional sport bumper?
Got into a very small accident and scraped up my front bumper.

i tried desperately to get an aero bumper but the difference was like 800 bucks. The oem regular bumper is like 360 and the nismo is like 1170 from INS perspective. Not worth it to me but it's a personal opinion

So if you already have the nismo and get in a front-end accident, do you have to really stress that to the body shop so that they don't put the regular bumper on? I'm sure that would be a yes, right?

Yes, I stressed to the bodyshop and adjuster that I have to have an aero sport bumper. It was easily arguable since it was a factory part. What was the result? Adjuster gave the bodyshop 1160 to buy the bumper, I told the bodyshop I would buy it for them. Called Tony up on the phone and ordered the nismo front and rear for the price.

If your bumper is just scraped the body shop and your insurance company should only want to repaint it not give you a $1,000 bumper. If they are talking about replacing the bumper though what your asking sounds borderline on insurance fraud if you don't pay the difference in the bumpers.

Just tell them you have an Aero front bumper...since its OEM anyways, I'm sure they won't second guess it when they see the Nissan part number.

^ fraud lol really give it a shot and if they don't cover it then pay the difference.

I bought mine out of pocket but the insurance paid to get it painted and installed. Body shop thanked me since they didn't have to work with the old one.

I just went through this with Discount Tire who messed up my front bumper (the kid driving it rolled into the curb and messed up my non-Aero 04 bumper). You are correct that a new bumper from the dealer is around $360 but what your are forgetting is that price does NOT include paint. The NISMO bumper comes already painted. I got a quote of $780 painted for the OEM non aero bumper from an Inifiniti dealer, got a check for that amount from Discount Tire... Then ordered the NISMO bumper for a tad over $800 and paid the minimal difference. Was a very smooth process.
Hope this helps.

I'm going to have my insurance pay me for my nismo that was trashed by the raccoon so I can go with something else.
