Seat Fixes advice?

For people that have right leg pain...have you gotten anything to help?

The thing I have been doing is rising the back of the seat up alot and keeping the front at the lowest point - kinda dorky position but it helps me a little.

Does anyone have any pads, pillows, massagers that help? If so can you give some detail about exactly what it is?

Please keep the comments out of this thread - just some solutions.

I think I am going to get a pillow or leather massage seat cover thingy next. Having no feeling in my right leg sucks.

You know, if you do that mod, and Infiniti comes out with a fix, you might be SOL for them to replace the seat, I would wait if I were you!

Re: Seat Fixes advice?

I found one thing that helped me some also.

I put my ankle at the base of the gas pedal and almost touching the right interior wall.

It makes hitting the brake a little awkward - it gave me major relief tonight however. I think this make my leg angle slightly inward instead of slightly laying on the control panel. Going to play with this one further.

I found putting the front lip of the seat high made both legs fall asleep real quick LOL.

I found jacking the rear of the seat felt better but I felt like a dork driving.

Tomorrow is the quest for a pillow.

Thanks for contributing to this thread and lets talk about things that help or dont help. We all know this is BULLSH!T to have to put up with.

Re: Seat Fixes advice?

I was going to perform the seat mod this past weekend (cutting off the controls bracket). After taking the seat apart, I found that the bracket on my '04 could be bent instead of cut off. I bent the outer brackets about a 1/4 inch and the center bracket about a 1/2 inch. I put everything back together and drove for 2 hrs back to Boston. For me, the seat is much more comfortable now. The seat controls are attached firmly to the seat but now they are touching to center console. The seat will stay in that position since I am the only one driving the G.

Re: Seat Fixes advice?

Hi, I had the exact same reaction as you after I removed the brackets. I experienced about 7 to 10 days of what I thought was the cure, but in the end the pressure was in another location on my thigh and created the same type of symptoms (about 1/2 inch towards toe direction). For the other on the board keep us updated with a report after about two weeks of driving. I don’t mean to sound negative about this, but “I have been there done that” and have no long-term good news to report. I certainly hope that I am unique and that you and others may find final relief with your modification.

Re: Seat Fixes advice?

I will update after a week or two. One good thing, if Infiniti EVER comes up with a real fix for this seat problem, I'm glad I only bent the brackets and not cut them off. The seats are a little small for me but that is a small price to pay for such a wonderful car. I am not over weight but I'm not small either. 6'4" 220 lbs 38 waist 34 leg. My 83 280ZX had great seats but not the power and luxury of the G.

Re: Seat Fixes advice?

I think I have the fix for all y'all with leg pain. You must not have the $1.50 plastic floormats the dealer charged me $150 for. They probably lift my foot 1/64 of an inch so my thigh doesn't hit the power seat controls. Just go down to WalMArt and getcha some $1.50 clear plastic floormats, give the cashier $150, say keep the change, and your leg pains will disappear for good. And you won't have that hip pain from a fat wallet either!!!
