Does anyone know if there is a TSB for this creaking noise. I want to present it to the dealer when I go in.

There is no TSB for the compression rod although some dealers have replaced them under warranty for some people. It's a bit hit and miss wether they will do it for you. You'll ahve more luck if your car is stock supension wise. I myself had no luck since I'm on coilovers so I just bought the pieces myself and swapped them in. The loud creaking going over driveways and large speedbumps are now gone even with the colder weather around. Do a search on compression rod and you'll find plenty of threads here.

How long did it take you to swap the arms? How many miles were on the car? Were any nuts/bolts forzen?

It only took me like 30 mins total. Real easy. Just 8 bolts total. And two cotter pins. A breaker bar might be needed for the bolt connecting to the spindle since it's torqued down to around 80+ ft/lbs. I have 51k on my car. And no nuts/bolts were frozen but then again I live in Cali and don't deal with snow/salt. And if anyone does decide to buy the compression rods on their own you will also need to purchase two tapered cone sleeves since the stock ones are very hard to pull off without the proper tool. See this post for part #.

Does replacing the rods fix the problem permanently, or will it return over time?

From what I've been able to learn the squeak harms nothing, it's just an annoyance. there is no safety of flight issue.

Sounds pretty cheap though...

I know that my squeaking has lead to clunking and the sterring is not crisp and it wanders at highway speeds.

The boot on the linkage could be broken. Mine is. Maybe the elements are causing friction.

I've read that the compression rod does play a part in caster which could lead to wandering at higher speeds.

one thing i just have noticed....if anyone is going in for front end noises, (compression rods), the creaking is not noticable and/or not being produced in the rain, at least for me. Maybe the water is "lubricating" ?...We have had alot of rain and cold weather around here lately and I have not heard the front end making any noises while driving in the rain. The creaking is very noticable in dry cold weather however.

Im planning on taking it into the dealer next week for this, and I dont want something like rain affecting infiniti from reproducing the sound, so i checked the weather before making an appointment lol.

Mine turned out to be the steering rack (so says the dealer). We'll see. The rack came in and I need to schedule an appointment to replace.
