Those are some of the best bang for the buck mods you can do and get a little power from.

The Z tube may or may not add hp, but it allows air to flow into the throttle body a little better than the G tube with its baffles and has about the same results as much more expensive intakes. That's what makes these two items a bang for the buck.

Face it, add all of the bolt ons available for the VQ, without opening the motor or adding NOS of FI, and you might make 30 extra hp at the expense of several thousand dollars. The 03-04 only has 260 hp anyway.

Again +1

If you want big power you are going to have to boost or spray.

Plus since most people end up getting larger and heavier wheels with big jumps in unsprung weight every little bit of weight savings can help. Remember, even just going with wider tires adds weight in most cases. I would bet that most of the sedans on here with 20's and only minor breathing mods would loose to a bone stock sedan with the same driver.

Rated at 260hp, but closer to 275hp.

consider FD! I went from 3.3 to 3.7 and it is VERY noticeable!!! Good bang for the buck (IMO)... not including install, you could get Motordyne IsoThermal spacer, OEM Z-Tube and FD in or around your budget... it will cost a little more for the FD install

If I knew when I started what I know now, I'd probably start with those...

As stated above it’s the final drive gear ratio… it’s just the ring & pinion gears in the rear end… costs $400-$450 - depending on where you get it (possibly could be cheaper if you look around)... I had it installed with Quaife differential which included misc parts and extra time - so I'm not exactly sure how much it would be to install the ring & pinion by itself… it would probably max out your $750 limit… you could stay within budget (or close to it) for parts only though (the ones I mentioned originally).

I would like to find a 3.3 vlsd to swap for my 3.5 vlsd. It works much better for boosted cars.
