Unhappy Height/Legroom Problem!! 6ft7 275lbs, Can I extend seat??

Just like the title says, I'm 6ft7 275lbs lean and long. I got an 05 X sedan that I fit OK in but I was wondering if this has ever been done by anyone on this forum. I fit fine but when I lean far forward I can scrape my head on the sunshade lol. I never almost never have anyone ride behind me either. Is it possible to extend the seat back without having to do it permanently?? Good thing this isn't my daily driver, but sometimes I feel like I'm driving a Prius LOL help with any ideas, suggestions....

Jeezus man, I'm only 6'2 220 and *nobody* sits behind me, it is expressly forbidden! I suggest you drive barefoot & remove the padding from the driver seat, or get a good blowtorch & buy some extra seat rails from a junk yard so you can slide the seat farther back (there's a good 5 or 6 inches there before you hit the back seat).

No you cannot do this. I recommend that you raise a bump in the roof just where your head is. A local body shop can do this for you for under $200 simply by cutting a 12 inch hole above your head and inserting a glass dome. Or you can rip out the ground and go Flintstones style. let me know how it goes either way.

I'm sure a good fabrication shop should be able to extend or move your sliders. I would imagine it would be on a more permanent level though. If those tools on Unique Whips can figure it out, there has to be somebody in your area that can. I am about 6'-3" and I have plenty of headroom. My seat is adjusted all of they way down with a little recline in the seat. My 5'-7" Dad had my car once and when I got back in I couldn't sit without my head hitting the roof.

Do a search for a seat mod. I know there is a bolt under the seat that you can adjust to free up some more space.

Well, im 6' 4" 245lbs I had some issues, but I read somewhere you can ajust the stops on the height rail, they are little plastic stops that when ajusted you can move the seat lower giving you some .75"-1" more head room. also if you can find some coupe seats those seats bolt in to sedans and you gain 1"-1.5" head room. As far as the sliding back I have no idea

dude....u should be in the NBA....or in the NFL god knows the Dolphins need a TE

Anyways, even I have problems and im only 5'11'' and i dunno if its the way my body is or something but i got maybe a finger between the top of my head and the roof, ive even found myself hitting the roof on serious bumps (dont ask, they were not seen).

And as far as I know the only thing I could think of is to get some new rails fabbed up....Im sure there are plenty of shops in ur area that deal with custom fabrication....its all a matter of research man, start callin around all the shops and im sure 1 will point u in the right direction.

Good luck
