Infiniti VB replacement TSB# ITB07-030

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on service bulletin ITB07-030. I was getting a shudder from my transmission around 40mph in 5th gear only in manumatic. Looked around and saw a recently released bulletin on it. It calls for the replacement of the valvebody which I had done about 2 weeks ago. I used the autoenginuity to check the line pressure before it went and after. It was increased after the replacement and the shifts are much crisper as you would expect in manual mode. Just to note that being in full auto had more line pressure than any gear in manual mode which is why my shifts use to feel better in auto. Now they feel comparable. I also use to have a pretty bad delay in the 1st to 2nd shift in manual mode which is now gone.
The shudder is completely gone with better shifts in manual mode so I am happy. The tsb is for 06-07 G35 autos (obviously) and you can find the listing for the tsb over on infinitihelp.com

does it occur only at a specified rpm or speed in a particular gear or is it more general? if it occurs oftenly in a lot of places then i would think about following the advice above as long as the oil is recommended as a replacement for nissan j matic. with my shudder, it felt like every single wheel was out of balance and the car was going shake apart for the 3 or so seconds it lasted.

That will help a lot of people. Thanks for sharing.

You might want to also post this in the SB/TSB section.

It happens at 50-60mph mostly on freeway just crusing, kinda feels like you are running low on fuel but then I step on the gas and its fine. hard to describe. I also have hard shifts and sometimes at the wrong shift points. I did change the fluid but no flush yet. Anyone recommend a place to get it done other tahn the dealer.

I thought the 05-06 had the same transmission. Why would the TSB be only for the 06-07??

I have stupid long delay in shifting from 1-2 in manual mode. If i floor the car, I have to shift at 300-400 rpms before the revlimiter so it wont bounce. The 2-3 is real quick and hard, I hear a clunk in the rear end it shifts so hard.

different trannys have different production date ranges and therefore are not the same even though the model number is the same i found this out the hard way

I'll trade you - My 1-2 is quick and snappy and 2-3 is slow and painful.
