+1 on the polish. I would hold off on the high grit sand paper until you have to because it will take a lot of work.

you take a white board marker and you write over where the permanent marker is and then erase and the permanent marker should erase with the white board marker. I have never seen this done on plastic so try this on a very small spot.

sorry to hear that, it sucks that some people have no respect... Any product you decide to use just test it out before in a small inconspicuous spot on the headlight. But I think rubbing alcohol would work fine.

it may sound weird, but toothpaste might work~ I've used toothpaste on plastic to wipe off permanent marker before (rubbing alcohol didn't work for this) and it smelled nice after too! Those bastards that have no respect and act out on their hatred should just go sit in a corner and cut themselves instead of damaging property like nice little emo's...

Don't use WD40 or rubbing alcohol. Either of them will more then likely make things worse as it may burn through the plastic and leave a scarred dull appearance on the applied area.

Do you live near a "Tap Plastics" store? I know they sell graffiti removers that are safe on plastics. If not google products that are geared to removing graffiti, such as:

3M plastic polish and a lot of elbow greast. former can be obtained in your local automotive store. worst case - you'll have to wet-sand the headlight and polish it. when you're done with it, i would recommend applying clear-bra to both headlights.

At worst, you are no worse off. This is what I'd do.

Rubbing alcohol won't damage plastic, in fact they are sold in plastic bottles!!

I've used WD-40, bug remover and Goo Gone on my lights with zero ill effect. I had to remove adhesive tape that had burned into the lens. I would go with the Goo Gone


Goo Gone removed the adhesive from the tape, but I had to power-wash the plastic tape off first.

if ur cheap and cant find goo gone get a dry erase marker cover the permy for some reason when u mix box markers it re enables the wetness of the permy and it takes it off just like regular dry erase. as in put dry erase on the damaged area. then buff off to a shine.

just use regular soap, water, and a green scotch bright scrubber. should come right off. It works in my microbiology lab. we write on our glass equipment all the time with sharpies, and it comes write off with some scrubbing and hand soap. so just try this first, forget buying something. use what u have, then buy it.
