My first bumper scratch

I just noticed for the first time on my 7-month old G – 2 deep 1” long scratches in my rear bumper. The car has been dirty for a while now. Most of the road salt/dirt was covering the scratched area, so I have no idea where or when the scratches happened. Warm weather this weekend means that I will defiantly wash the hell out of my car.

Only my fellow G forum members can truly feel my angst. Other people just say “you have a little scratch on your bumper BFD!”

Oh well, I’ll either have it repaired or learn to live with it………..

Re: My first bumper scratch

shads,

Ouch....I feel your pain.

My pain is nowhere near as bad as yours. (My emotional G-based pain that is).

I hope you find the SOB who did that to you. They must have know how F'd up they were when it actually happened. My scratches might have happened without anyone really noticing.

Best of luck in getting a good paint job.

Re: My first bumper scratch

The ONLY good thing is that I didn't spring for the $500 clear bra/bumper protectant when I got my windows tinted last week. That would have been money down the drain.

Re: My first bumper scratch

I would say live with it. Ignoring it until something big happens to your bumper again and fix once. You know this kind of thing just happen too frequently. You need to repaint the whole thing, so it is not worth it if the scrathes/dents don't cover big area.

2003 Infiniti G35 sedan Twilight Blue/Willow, 5AT, premium, sunroof, winter, HIDs, navi.
2004 Lexus RX330 FWD wagon Flint Mica/Light Gray, premium plus, navi, Mark Levinson, rear DVD.
