Anyone try this?

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-general-tech-questions/185686-mufflers-removed-sound-clip.html I found this thread in the 07 sedan section and when i saw it i was like wow. That sounds pretty cool and the best part about it is its free and easy to do. So My question to you guys is has anyone tried this. What are your opinions on doing this to our sedans , i have an 05 sedan and i think i want to try this.

What are your opinions? Do you think ill lose power? Will it effect anything else?

I saw that thread when it was posted.....Don't understand why anyone would want to do this for their sedan since the HKS is pretty affordable....besides...dont you think it'd look pretty weird to have no muffler tips when you look @ the rear of your car.
Go for it....let us know how you made out. The Stock muffler isn't too hard to remove.

I tried it...twice...

The most recent time was when I installed my midpipe I was unable to remove the front two bolts so i drove to the exhaust shop with the midpipe not connected to the muffler.

The first time was after the body shop messed up and got overspray all over it and I had the muffler off for a few days to clean it back up. Was a little raspy up top and moderately loud but it really was not too bad. At partial throttle it was not too noticeable but at WOT people in cars around would Look! and girls showed there lol okay maybe not the second part

Remember this was all through the restrictive 03-04 Sedan midpipe.

As far a performance the butt dyno said faster but Im sure it was just the increased volume that made me feel faster.

Yea i just tried to take off the muffler tonight and man those bolts wont budge for anything so i am not sure how i am going to get them off. But you said that it didnt sound too bad and you had a 03-04 sedan midpipe while i have the 05 sedan midpipe so mind shouldnt sound to bad then. Thanks for your response.

Try hooking up a pipe to your ratchet. That should give you the leverage you need to break those bolts.
If you have a bike laying around, use the seat. That's what I do

be sure to use the correct wrench and hit it with a hammer. Worked for me on the 2 G's I changed the midpipes on. Just needs a little shock to break the bolt loose.

I also started my car up with no pipe on for giggles and I don't recall it sounding as good at the car in that other thread. Seems too obnoxious to me.

The 05 midpipe is less restrictive than the 03 so yours will be louder. It was not as desirable as the car in the soundclip but everyone has there own taste. Let us know what ya think.

Only thing interesting about that thread is to see the clamp on/flange type connector they use to connect the pipes together.
