Haha, you're right I haven't ever driven a car in severe winter conditions (we got like 1/4 inch of snow and icy bridges one morning a couple Februaries ago... melted off by noon though). I actually ventured to work that day in my G, I swear there was a car spun off the road every 12 feet, but I made it just fine.

Why are people complaining about the automatic climate control doing its job?

Adjust the heat yourself if you want freedom in choosing to AC or not.

Yeah, this is ghey. My windows aren't fogging up, I want to recirculate air, yet the stupid car was the A/C to be on? Why not make it our choice if we want the A/C or not?

Thats like driving on the freeway and the CAR automatically goes to Cruise control and you can't bypass it because it KNOWS better then you..

BS..

Sometimes, I just want the air to flow w/o the AC being on.. Why are they making that soo damn impossible to do?

How about manually? Can you recirculate the cabin air w/o having the a/c turn on by itself?

The problem is, if you hit the "recirculate button", the AC will be on no matter what. Even if the heater is on. The only way to run the fans w/o the AC is to not use the "recirculate" mode.

Sometimes I just want air without the compressor on without having to smell whatever may be outside. Here in Phoenix every 3rd car is a big Ford truck that smells so bad from the diesel fuel.

As for the compressor not being on when the light is on, I have never seen mine not come on. It comes on every time...

I still think it is stupid...

Yes -- big, old trucks with Sonora Mexico plates.

Okay, I learned something today. I thought it was just a computer glitch.

I have always thought that the when you select Auto the car controls the temp. meaning if you set the temp for 75 degrees and the car senses that the temp in the car is 80 the the car will cool down the cabin to 75 degrees or somewhere close to that. Cars now days incorporate alot of computer controled options. Also did you know that when you select auto the car controls the fans? Thats part of regulating the temp in the cabin too.
