After 2+ years on this forum I have found it to be most helpful to look in the tech section for my answer before starting a new thead. 99% of them have been addressed before and 1-5 minutes searching will not only find you that thread but your answer.

If you can't find that answer I think it is right to post a new thread. If you start one in the correct section and you don't get an answer within a couple hours, post a new thread here with a link to it and say why. Then when you get your answer please delete the link thread.

I will be working on a "FAQ" list that we can sticky and with some luck avoid a lot of the duplicate threads. When I get it going we can all contribute and I'll keep the 1st post updated to list all the stuff we come up with.

it is staying in the sedan section which is the right choice but with your argument it should actually be placed in the Body Interior Exterior Lighting section. if it was the OP could have debadged his emblem, then discovered two holes. that would not be good. so that could also be applied to offset questions, exhaust questions, like i said most things that arent ambidextrous to the coupe and sedan.

on a side note, please dont ban me, im just trying to voice my oppinions.

I agree that there are always at least two places any thread could be. I try to either answer them or leave them for an answer before they are moved.

Maybe one day in not too long we will have enough info in a FAQ that all these dupliacte threads can just be deleted.

Very few threads should be posted in the Sedan and Coupe forum as there are very few topics that are general enough to be posted in either two. Most all other threads can be better placed in their proper sub-forums in the Tech Area. With that said, the Coupe and Sedan forums should have some of the least traffic.

But they always have some of the highest!

I think my #1 issue is the engine and performance questions that are always posted here. The engine is the same for both so these need to be in the tech section.

I know this is the sedan forum but man, what is up with all these new owner threads. It's bugging me to no end. All I want to do is find the information I am looking for. Not some, hi I'm new. I do respect them for purchasing a G but there is a Sub-Forum for it. I think things like that and the rest of the little issues just annoy the moderators as well. However I do understand where you guys are comming from. You do gain alot more attention in the general sedan/coupe section. But I think 90% of the time the people do not know about the other sub-forums because they did not search for it.

could it be possible to post a thread in two forums, like the same exact thread that is accsesible in both, also the faq section should be shown right after you register, like as a pop up of sorts, that you hvae to read or somthing befor you can post.

I think the double post would become a big mess. I still think it will keep things cleaner to start one where it should be. Then if you still need help post a link here or in the coupe section to it until you get your answer and then delete the link thread. That way the answer will be where it should be for the next person to search.

It is also good to try and make your titles as on-subject as possible to help others search.

^ Agreed.

Duplicate postings have never been permitted, and like Tim said, it would make a huge cluttered mess. It's not like the staff is trying to be difficult, but when you have a forum with 60k members things need to be as organized as possible. This helps the staff and also helps the members when searching for information.

The only other real option i can think of is to close the sedan and coupe sections.
