Exclamation !!(PLEASE READ)!! Where does your thread belong??

Members,

Please start your new threads in the proper part of the forum. This section is for sedan specific stuff only.

Engine, exhaust, intake, tires, wheels, etc all have their own section. Please try and use them before you start one a new thread.

I have been moving 3 out of every 4 threads started in this section in the last month. I'm going to stop using the re-direct and just moving or deleting them.

I understand some of you are new and it's ok but please take the time to look over the forum and search for your question before starting another thread that may have been answered 100X before.

Edit 1/8/08: There is a now sticky for FAQ, please take a look as many questions are covered in there.

Haha I knew this was comming after that one day when all you saw was "Moved". I think this will help alot. Also isnt there a new member section? Yes there is. That always buggs me because now you see more and more I just bought my sedan/coupe. Thanks!

what about question that pertain to the sedan only.

i.e. Aftermarket Sedan Exhaust Compilation

or Calling all "X's" with a lowered suspension!

"Engine, exhaust, intake, tires, wheels, etc all have their own section"

I didn't say anything about the "X" did I? Those are all sedans.

As for sedan exhaust stuff, there is your thread right there in the sedan section, why do we need 25 more that ask "can I put a coupe exhaust on my sedan"?!?

As for sedan specific wheel/tire and other questions, I know these can go either way. But... they do need to go in the general wheel/tire, engine/drivetrain, etc section. These are for everyone who use this forum. If you start a thread over there and it isn't answered in a reasonable time then post a link in a new thread here and say why. We are not trying to be a pain but when there are so many threads with the same info it makes it harder to search for the answer. Most of the time those other sections will give you a faster answer to your question.

i wasnt trying to be annoying i belive that if the question has to do with the sedan and the sedan only i should be allowed in this section.

such as specific offsets, exausts, wheels, bodykits, lighting, etc.

if it is a general question about the G35 that could be answered by a coupe master or a sedan master, or even a 350z guy, it should be moved.

If Sedan specific threads like offsets, exhausts, etc were to remain here, the Coupe section would have to go that way as well. Then there would be no threads in the Tech sections at all.

Threads belonging in the tech section have always been moved there and will continue to be moved there. It's appreciated when threads are posted in the correct section so the forum can be as organized as possible.

ill give you a perfect example, this thread rear debadging?

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/195579-rear-debadging.html

it is staying in the sedan section which is the right choice but with your argument it should actually be placed in the Body Interior Exterior Lighting section. if it was the OP could have debadged his emblem, then discovered two holes. that would not be good. so that could also be applied to offset questions, exhaust questions, like i said most things that arent ambidextrous to the coupe and sedan.

on a side note, please dont ban me, im just trying to voice my oppinions.

So what would be a sedan only topic that wouldn't fit in any of the other areas? Seems that just about any topic you can come up with would fit in one of those areas. I don't post much and usually it is just a reply, so it doesn't really matter to me, but it bugs me to see all the moved links all the time. Right now on the first page there are 7 good links and every other one is moved. The 7 that were allowed to stay could also fit in one of the tech areas (1 about bumpers could go to exterior, one about door lock not working could go into electronics, etc. etc.). So, at this rate there is really no need for a sedan or a coupe section, because everything that could be asked would fit in some other area. Just my 2 cents... carry on

+1 I too think that every topic could be moved..... and is why I agree these two on this topic.

Personally i can see both sides of the coin. I think that threads pertaining to the sedan should originate here (it will get the most exposure this way) then after a month or two it should be moved tothe specific section. This will enable the most exposure for the thread l, while keeping the forum un clutered.

If my spelling is bad, my apologies I'm using my iPhone.

While it's not a perfect system, it is what it is. We have to have some way of keeping threads organized from 60k members. If not, the entire forum would be a free for all and threads would be posted anywhere and everywhere. Some threads are missed simply because the small number of Mods/Admins we have here can't possibly read every single thread on the forum. Sorry folks, but the Tech sections were created for a reason and threads will continue to be moved there.

While this would be great in theory, the staff doesn't have the time nor the manpower to go through countless month or two old threads.
