I spoke with Rookie yesterday… unfortunately it’s not anytime in the immediate future… he said they are targeting sometime in March.

I’m getting anxious – I just got my taillight mod to work and really want to get going with paint… I didn’t realize it was going to take this long (but I don’t think Viet did either)

 

yeah. well that is understandable. Things like this do take time to get it right the first time, so it's better safe than sorry. Any idea of price range yet???

Yeah its been longer than expected, its more of a favor from Auto Explosion to do this than anything. Most boyshops would not deal with this kind of stuff when they won't even own the mold.

Thanks! I’m really stoked that I will be able to get the tails to look the way I envisioned… With Rookies bumper, caskylines grille & headlights, the CE28s and Auto Explosions paint, I’m really excited with how the car will (should) look!

I’ve never (until recently) given a lot of effort to aesthetics (other than a few subtle but very unique things)… I guess now I’m kinda on that kick. Hopefully the bumper and paint will be coming here soon! I need to send the car to my touch up painter for some ancillary stuff, but not until after bumper & tails paint – so it’s looking like my overall project won’t be done for a couple of months.

The more time that passes the more itchy I get to finish up performance stuff (still contemplating cams & headers)… hopefully the bumper will be ready before I start jonesin’ too much and dump a bunch into the motor…

 

Keeping my fingers crossed for March.

 

lol I hear ya on the motor part. The way I figured it is I'll do a few engine mod's just to give me an idea of what the g can do. So I got a couple bolt ons and exhaust and such and I am happy with the performance.... for now. So I said, now I want to spend time on the aesthetic part and get everything on the outside I want to get done, then move back to the performance mods.

 

Both bumpers are in the final stages at the shop before being sent out for the molds. I'm out of town on business so I can't stop by and give the final ok on the bumpers. From the pics they look good but I want to see them first.

Is there going to be a group buy for the bumper or would we just have to get them individually???

 

I can’t speak for Rookie - but I think he's headed up north for HIN, so I'm not sure how soon he will reply... I would venture to say there will be some sort of "enticing" pricing... I'm almost certain it will be a competitive price to all other options.

Rookie would need to confirm all this though...
